Rookie Revenge

In the last day or two, extensive damage has been caused to the business of innocent miners and traders in the Amamake system. In light of this, a commitment was made by the upstanding citizens of Rookie Help that they would not stand any more for the disruption caused by unfriendly pirates to their livelihoods. Shortly afterwards, a defence force of roughly 12 reaper pilots was assembled and began to fly to Amamake.
Their mission was to be known as "Operation Meatshield".
Carrying the latest in elite technology, including at least one basic warp jamming module, the fleet made its way through Egghelende and Siseide scouring stations and belts for errant scum. In the Siseide system the communications of a known menace ("slarti") were detected, but for the damn life of them they couldn't find out where he was.
Then - immediately on arrival at Amamake - they noticed the trail of another pirate, the evil "Platina"  .
They had scarcely charged up our gatling autocannons before she contacted one of them.
"Can I gang with you?" she begged, predictably.
"Of course! You can cover for me while I mine! Oh, and how does escrow work?" replied the cunning noob.
Whistling to herself, Platina then pedalled her Scorpion class cruiser straight into the belt in anticipation of an easy kill. Unfortunately for her, she also went straight into a hailstorm of +1 and +2 hits. Moving into close range, which she seemed unable to deal with, the baying trial members began to take her apart. They succeeded in depleting at least one one hundred and seventeeth of her shields, until, terrified by the noobs zooming around her just 500m away, she warped out. She then cowered in a station until they had left.
Having set out to what seemed like certain suicide, placing their +1 mem implants on the line, they came back without a scratch, apart from having someone get blown away by concorde for friendly fire. If they had just had a few more warp jammers, she would have been done for. Amazed that they were still alive, the members of OM made their way back to safe space, contemplating the next phase of their battle for the liberation of 0.4.
